Ms. Stephano works with global health care providers to establish transparency with respect to the quality of care as they increase their flow of patients and she also works with medical tourism facilitators to establish best practices which ultimately ensure patient safety.
Healthcare providers around the world do not have the capability of benchmarking due to either lack of data collection or the difference in the methodology in which data is collected. Renée-Marie is at the forefront of a Quality of Care Project which will change global healthcare by effectuating transparency under a single methodology data collection process. This project will allow patients, employers and insurance companies easier access to data on an “apples to apples” comparison basis.
Renée-Marie offers education to healthcare clusters and providers about international accreditation opportunities and in understanding the need for developing protocols for the delivery of healthcare services premised upon international accreditation standards. She advocates that hospitals and healthcare providers be transparent and make available to patients their quality and outcomes.
Through the support of the Medical Tourism Association Membership, she developed a certification program for Medical Tourism Facilitators which serves as a set of best practices for delivery of medical tourism services. These standards are currently being adapted for the certification of international patient coordinator services for healthcare providers which will be implemented on a global scale.
